In May, La Grange resident Jeff Cogelja purchased four chickens and built a chicken coop in his backyard. However, after a neighbor complained, the village officials were forced to get involved. The village has no ordinance allowing chickens on residential property, and officials say Cogelja must now get rid of the animals.
